This course is designed to help students develop the academic writing skills they will need for the collaborative, dynamic and student-centred teaching and learning encountered at CMU-Africa. These skills include conducting research, applying critical analysis and developing and presenting an argument in reports and essays. These skills will help them successfully complete their MS programs at CMU-Africa.
This course is offered on a pass/no pass basis.
The course aims to equip students with a wide range of relevant academic writing skills which students will require for their courses at CMU-Africa.
Students will produce a report and an essay on a technical project of their choice, utilising skills such as research, critical thinking and summarizing in the process
This course will be targeted at students who need guidance on academic writing but who do not require the full Academic Skills for Engineers course. It is NOT suitable for those taking 04-606 Academic Skills for Engineers.
