Carnegie Mellon University Africa is the only U.S. research university offering its master's degrees with a full-time faculty, staff, and operations in Africa. The location offers three graduate degrees through Carnegie Mellon’s top-ranked College of Engineering: Information Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Engineering Artificial Intelligence.
In each program, students have the option to select a concentration. A concentration allows a student to select their coursework in order to focus their learning in a specific area of expertise. Students can further strengthen their concentration knowledge by selecting an internship, practicum, and/or research in the same area as their concentration

- The MS ECE degree is for students who want to engineer underlying technologies to create new tools, algorithms, and technologies.
- The MSIT degree is for students who want to apply existing tools and technologies to solve customer problems.
- The MS EAI degree is for students with solid math and programming skills who want to engineer new solutions to engineering challenges in their discipline and where artificial intelligence and machine learning are integral to the design or operation of the engineered system.
