04-800-M   Security Assessment Project

Course description

This course will put into practice the topics covered in the two prerequisite classes within a real-world setting. Students will assume the role of security consultants at a local company where they will conduct an 8-week assessment of the company's information security program. The assessment will provide an independent, objective measurement of the company's information security maturity from a governance and technical perspective. Students will get the opportunity to interface with the industry while gaining a practical understanding of the challenges faced by companies when implementing security. The culmination of the project will be two detailed reports of the security findings and your recommendations on how the company can improve its overall information security posture.
