Speaker: Charlie Wilkinson, Head of Operations at ARC Power
Abstract: This lecture introduces the current state of the mini-grids - ARC power as a case study. Where are we now in affordable and reliable off-grid systems? The speaker will talk about economic considerations as well as achievements to date in mini-grid markets. Moreover, societal impact from development and humanities perspective i.e., mini-grids' role in the SDGs and their productive use.
Bio: Wilkinson is a widely traveled and experienced business management and logistics expert who has worked in the UK, Netherlands, and Sri Lanka. He has managed large diverse teams and worked with new businesses to help them develop rapidly. He has a master's degree in international development. Wilkinson has built and developed the team in Rwanda to successfully deploy a scalable rollout of mini-grids.
