Bio: David Vernon is a research professor at Carnegie Mellon University Africa in Rwanda. He has been active in the field of robotics for over forty years. He co-founded the IEEE Technical Committee for Cognitive Robotics and serves on the IEEE Women in Engineering Committee and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
