The Upanzi Network at Carnegie Mellon University Africa has been accepted as a member of the civil society and academia advisory group within the Digital for Development (D4D) Hub, a platform fostering collaboration between various stakeholders for a sustainable and inclusive digital transformation.

The D4D Hub, established in December 2020 by the European Union and its Member States, champions a human-centric approach to digital transformation. It serves as a conduit for international digital partnerships and multi-stakeholder collaboration, with a presence in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia-Pacific, and the EU neighboring countries.

The Upanzi Network joins over 50 members representing civil society organisations, umbrella networks, think tanks, and research centers.

"We are excited to join the D4D Hub civil society and academia advisory group and look forward to contributing our insights, participating in crucial discussions, and engaging in cooperation initiatives," says Assane Gueye, co-director of the Upanzi Network.

The D4D Hub vision aligns strongly with the goals of the Upanzi Network. They are working to shape a sustainable digital future for all, bridging digital divides to place people at the heart of digital economies and societies worldwide.
