Cathy Bishop is currently a part-time instructor at Carnegie Mellon University Africa, teaching computer science and software engineering courses and supporting students in all their technology projects, with a focus on Java, Android, and Linux. She lived and worked in Kigali, Rwanda from 2013 to 2021, and now teaches remotely from Boulder, Colorado, USA.
Bishop has extensive industry experience as a software engineer and in teaching computer science coursework as both a corporate trainer and in academia working with both undergraduate and graduate students. She has worked as a software engineer for a number of companies in a variety of application areas. She has taught as an adjunct at the University of Colorado, Boulder and also taught full-time at Red Rocks Community College in Colorado.
Bishop earned her BS in computer science from the University of Wyoming and her MS in computer science from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
She is a strong supporter for programs that encourage and support women in tech.
